Seventeen-year-old Alyssa thought moving into an old mansion would be the hardest part of starting over. She was wrong.

Her mother dreams of turning the mansion into an inn, while Alyssa is still trying to figure out where she fits into her new life.

Then she meets Mike.

Thoughtful and easy to talk to, Mike quickly becomes the best part of Alyssa’s new beginning. With him around, the unfamiliar starts to feel a little more like home.

But the mansion is hiding a history Alyssa never expected to uncover.

When she discovers an old diary hidden in her room, Alyssa is drawn into the lives of the family who once lived there and the tragedy that changed everything. Soon, strange things begin happening. Rooms turn inexplicably cold. Objects move on their own. Sounds drift from empty rooms.

At first, Alyssa tries to convince herself there must be an explanation. Then the coincidences become impossible to ignore.

Drawn deeper into the past, Alyssa becomes determined to discover what really happened in the mansion all those years ago. But every answer leads to another question, until she begins to wonder if what happened there ever truly ended.

The past has kept its secrets for decades. And something in the mansion will stop at nothing to keep them that way.
